Waiting...

Waiting is hard.  Think about the times in your life when you had to wait for something.  The anticipation could be overwhelming while exciting.  I have been in a season of waiting with expectation of good things.

There is a monthly prayer meeting that I am part of through Professional Christian Coaching Institute (PCCI).  The meeting for February 2019 was held on my birthday.  I really didn’t think much of that and thought that the prayer meeting would still be done the way we usually do it.

Well, they surprised me and each spoke a word over me.  It was beautiful.  As they were speaking I heard this theme of waiting obediently.  They spoke the words of affirmation and encouragement that I exactly needed.  I love how God uses His people to speak to us in the most beautiful ways.

I love music and have been creating playlists for many years.  In days gone by I would burn them to a CD and then moved to using flash drives and now the best way to share a playlist is via online streaming options.  I decided to create a playlist for this moment in my life, this season of waiting.

All of the songs on this playlist talk about waiting and how to wait well.  I end the playlist with Chris Tomlin’s “I Will Rise” because even though that doesn’t directly talk about waiting, by doing the waiting,  we will walk with Him when He calls our name.

May these songs bless you as you see that there is a purpose in the waiting.

I would love to hear your feedback about the playlist.  Which of these songs speak to you the most?  What other songs about waiting encourage you?  Please comment below.

One comment on “Waiting...”

  1. My current charge from God is to point others (and myself) to Jude 21, which says, “...keep receiving for yourselves the love of God, waiting...”
The love of God is the second Flood to cover the earth, but even people who believe in God do not receive it for themselves, much less to give to others. Those who do receive it, have a harvest of love to reap, because lovers are loved.
