Faith Driven Entrepreneur Virtual Conference Recap

Wow! The Faith Driven Entrepreneur virtual conference was packed! It was really a 2-day conference done in about 6 hours. We went from 10 am until 4:30 pm with a break for lunch.

The great news is that all of the presentations were recorded and will be available soon for those that registered. I already know I’m going to go back and rewatch a couple of them!

I love the fact that the major point is we are all called to create. We were made in the image of our Creator, who by nature is a creator so it makes sense that we are too. I was impressed with the variety of entrepreneurs they highlighted.

The list of speakers was truly amazing:

  • Donald Miller - The Power of Story
  • Andy Stanley - Making Better Decisions & Fewer Regrets
  • Seth Dillon - Making Your Impact in a Censored World
  • Jaylon Smith - Establishing a Clear Eye View
  • Marcus Stroud - From Homeless To Princeton: The Power of Belief
  • Stephen Mansfield - God and Guinness. Standing on the Shoulders of Giants
  • Brian Roland - Creating Culture In A Virtual World
  • Casey Crawford - Not Dead Yet
  • Dave Blanchard - Tensions Of Redemptive Entrepreneurship
  • Bertie Lourens - Making God a 51% Shareholder
  • Rusty Reuff - Shadow of A Leader
  • Katherine Trout & Richard Cunningham - Marketplace Review
  • Ally Davidson - Seizing Your Divine Moment
  • John Mark Comer - The Ruthless Elimination of Worry
  • Chris Hodges - If We Don't Deal With It, It Will Get Us
  • Pat Lencioni - 6 Types of Working Genius
  • Renji Bijoy - Can AI Help Create Culture?
  • JD Greear - Church Happens Most In The Marketplace
  • Lara Casey-Isaacson - Pruning To Grow
  • Coby Cotton (Dude Perfect) - Fun Becomes A Business and The Power of Creating With Friends
  • Gary Grant - The Entertainer
  • Keri-Leigh Paschal & Ofhentse Piet - Purpose Beyond Profit: Entrepreneurship In Africa
  • Mark Canlis - The Game's Not Up
  • Alan Clayton - Pitching In Paris
  • Terrance Price & Torii Hunter - Called To Create
  • Sue Alice Sauthoff & Kalen Holden - You Don't Have To Do It Alone

I could spend a week on each of the topics the speakers covered but have decided to highlight a few of the topics that connected most to my heart.

Terrance Price is the president of Makers Gym out of Frisco Texas. Makers Gym is a co-working space for creatives. His presentation was powerful. The four takeaways that I had were:

  1. We are made to create
  2. Poverty is the lack of creativity
  3. There are winners and learners, not losers
  4. You can turn your prison into your schooling

We truly can learn something from every experience in life, if we decide to make it a learning experience rather than a “failure”.

I felt convicted when John Mark Comer talked about “The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry: How to Stay Emotionally Healthy and Spiritually Alive in the Chaos of the Modern World. He referenced a 3-mile an hour God, the speed of love). 3 miles an hour is the typical speed that most people walk. John Mark reminded us that Jesus was unhurried. He had margin in his life to allow himself to be fully available. Relationships with intimacy require a lot of time and energy. They can not be rushed. It may not feel efficient to go at the speed of love but it is effective.

I was reminded how I live my life matters more than the outcome that is generated. I am pondering on the question I am about to ask you:

How are you living your life? Is Jesus in the pilot seat, taking the lead on the direction or is he on the back row of the plane without much influence on the direction of your life? What is one thing you can do right now, today, that will put Jesus back into the pilot seat of your life and have you walking closer with him?
